“IN COSTUME”
This photo series marks the first installment in a year-long investigation into identity—exploring how it forms in relation to culture, subculture, consumption, and presentation.
We began with a simple question: How does what we wear affect how we move?
In this study, we worked with dancers to test how costume and silhouette impact embodiment, character, and presence. The result is a visual experiment in transformation—capturing performers as they step in and out of constructed identities.
From stage to street, the performance doesn’t end. It continues in how we dress, what we signal, and how we move through the world. This shoot acts as both research and reflection—opening up ongoing questions around authenticity, visibility, and self-construction.
This is the beginning of a larger series by AFFEKT Dance Company.
